Kathryn Blume

Kathryn Blume (she/her) is a public speaker, actor, writer, musician, and passionate advocate for creative, justice-infused, world-saving action. A longtime Artistic Associate at Vermont Stage, she has acted, written, and directed shows in Vermont, regionally, off-Broadway, and toured her award-winning solo performances to over 50 cities in the US, Canada, and Europe.

She is currently the Managing Director of Hyperbaric Vermont, was the co-founder and Executive Director of the award-winning climate and sustainability game Vermontivate, and served as Communications Director for the cannabis media and events company Heady Vermont. She also founded the environmental news radio show Earth On The Air, co-founded the Lysistrata Project, the first worldwide theatrical event for peace, and is the author of Dancing To The Beat Of The Great, Green Heart, a collection of essays and speeches on building a climate movement of hope and power. She has also had essays published in the books MoveOn.org’s 50 Ways To Love Your Country, Code Pink’s Stop the Next War Now, Outcry – American Voices of Conscience Post 9/11, 365 Ways to Change the World, and Greening Vermont: The Search for a Sustainable State.

Kathryn served as board chair of the climate action group 350 Vermont and on the boards of Transition Town Charlotte, The Willowell Foundation, The Lewis Creek Association, and The Vermont Conservation Education Fund. A yogini with a 30+ year practice, Kathryn received her BA from Yale with a self-designed degree in environmental studies and theater and works as a wedding officiant in her spare time. She lives in the woods with her husband Mark and two very sexy cats.
